With over 180 lots, the WildFish 2023 Fundraising Auction offered bidders a diverse and fabulous selection of fishing opportunities as well as a selection of art, collectables and hospitality.

The amazing lots included an unrivalled choice of classic southern chalk streams including the Rivers Avon, Itchen and Test as well as a stunning selection from Cornwall to the wilds of Scotland. For those who enjoy the finer things in life, a very special opportunity to enjoy a Barolo and Barbaresco wine dinner for 12 at the River Café in London was also up for grabs along with a luxury break at the sumptuous Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest

Why it matters

Wild fish are facing their biggest challenge as the fresh and coastal waters they depend on are destroyed. In turn, the demand for action and support – from pollution, over-abstraction and open-net salmon farming – has never been greater.

“The money raised in our 2023 fundraising auction is vital in our fight to reverse the decline of wild fish populations in the UK. These funds will make a significant contribution to our campaigning as we strive for fresh and coastal waters that are clean, healthy and full of life.”

Nick Measham

Chief Executive at WildFish

Nick continued: “we have been delighted and humbled by the open-handed response from all our supporters this year. Donors were unstinting in giving – and bidders were equally enthusiastic when it came to bidding!”

The auction which closed on Sunday 24th September at 8 p.m was an incredible result for wild fish and their habitats.

Our warmest and most grateful thanks to everyone who participated to make this, our most important fund-raising event, one of the best ever.

I missed the auction this year. I had an excellent day with Andrew Flitcroft courtesy of the 2022 auction but did no realise that the 2023 auction was held already. Please notify me next year
