The Crisis

The Crisis

Wild fish are facing their biggest challenge.

We are destroying the fresh and coastal waters which they depend on. Continued destruction of the freshwater environment and its species is devastating nature and our own survival.

In the last 20 years, wild Atlantic salmon populations have declined by 70%

Such a dramatic fall means their very survival is at risk. Salmon are not alone. Today, over 10% of our freshwater and wetland species are threatened with extinction and at least two thirds are in decline. Continued exploitation of our freshwater environment and its species has devastating consequences for nature and wildlife.
