FAQ's

Who is the conference for?

The WildFish Research Conference is aimed at early-career researchers and academics working in freshwater science.

How can I attend?

There are several ways in which you can attend the conference. From Monday 10 February, we will invite early-career researchers and academics to present at the conference and/or take part in a poster session to share work and foster new collaborations. After the speaker slots have been allocated, there will also be an opportunity to register as an attendee (on a first come, first serve basis).

I would like to present at the conference?

From Monday 10 February, we will be sending out invitations to register your interest in presenting at the conference. If you would like to register your interest as a presenter, you will need to submit a short abstract describing your research. If you have not received an email invitation from us, please contact immy@wildfish.org

How much will it cost me to attend the conference?

The conference is FREE to attend. Participants will be required to cover their travel and accommodation to the event.

Will I be able to apply to WildFish for a bursary?

To apply for a bursary you must be a student enrolled in a postgraduate degree without access to other sources of funding for conference attendance. Additionally, your subject area must have a focus on freshwater systems and, ideally, you would have the intention to present your work at the conference. If you wish to apply for a bursary, please contact ursula@wildfish.org

What happens if my application is successful?

We will make direct contact with successful applicants by Wednesday 30 April 2025.
